The Sims 2 is a very popular tactical life simulation game for computers and this game was developed by Maxis and made available in the market by Electronic Arts. This game is the continuation of the best-selling computer game, The Sims that made its debut on December 2000. The Sims 2 game basically revolves around the same story line as its predecessor rather it is an extension to it. In this game the players have the option to control their Sims by engaging them in different routine actions and shaping associations in a way analogous to real life situations.

Alike its predecessor, The Sims does not have a defined final goal and the game is open-ended. The change you will find with Sims 2, is that it has life goals, wants and fears, the fulfillment of which can produce both positive or negative outcomes, beside that it also allows your Sims to dress up for different seasons and each of the season has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages.

All Sims age and can live up to eighty-five Sim days depending on the degree of which their ambitions are satisfied, although the game provides one item that can extend a Sim’s lifespan further.

They can grow through six life stages like baby, toddler and child, teen, adult and elder, the expansion pack of this game The Sims 2: University includes an additional life stage, Young Adult, for Sims who chooses to attend college.

Sims die naturally after a certain number of days in the elder life stage, determined by how high their Aspiration Score was when they first became Elders. The different life stages present different challenges, such as the reduced mobility of elders, children not being able to cook, and the constant care of infants.

The Sims 2 game put ups further challenges on its predecessor by allowing Sims, the simulated human characters, to age through six stages of life and incorporating a more powerful 3D graphics engine. This game (Sims 2) was first released on September 2004 and became an instant hit among the Sim followers. Further more added to the commercial success, The Sims 2 was praised by the critics of the game everywhere. The Sims 2 was declared as the best-selling PC game of 2004. Encouraged by its success a sequel to this game, The Sims 3, has been announced by the producers of the game in November 2006 and it is expected to be ready for the release by 2009.
